Getting a Site Approved

You are welcome to pursue internship opportunities at sites that are not listed on our wiki, but we want to make sure that you have a professional experience, are effectively mentored, and that your experiential education prepares you for roles in which you are likely to find yourself in your life after Monmouth.  If you secure a non-wiki internship position, your site will have to be approved by the Field Placement Developer and Coordinator (FPDC) Dr, Goodwin in order to begin earning hours. We will review both the appropriateness of the setting and the qualifications of your supervisor.

To pursue approval for a site, the student should email Dr. Goodwin with the following supporting documentation for review:

1.       Answers to the approval confirmations/questions included below, completed by potential supervisor **

2.       Resume or curriculum vitae of potential supervisor.  Your potential supervisor should have at minimum a Bachelor’s Degree; if they do not, please explain their qualifications for serving as an effective mentor of psychology-related skills.

Once this documentation is provided, an approval decision will typically be made within 48 hours.

** before providing the questions to your potential supervisor, please fill in the correct information for all underlined content.  Required hour amount is 60 hours for PY310, and 50 hours per credit for Experiential Education Independent Studies. Semester start and end dates may be found on the academic calendar.
