Overview


The Children's Day Program (part of Jersey Shore University Medical Center) provides intensive group therapy for children between the ages of 8-14, who are experiencing serious emotional, psychological, and/or behavioral difficulties at home, in school, or in the community. This program provides daily afternoon treatment, from 3-6 PM. The goal of this program is to teach and reinforce appropriate behavior in children.

Please apply early to this position, as the start-up process (background check, orientation, etc.) may take some time.


Duties


  • shadowing therapist groups
  • going on "van runs" (with staff) to pick up the children from school
  • interacting with children
  • providing feedback and redirection to children's behavior
  • leading a group therapy program on your own



Requirements


  • Time Management Skills
  • Desire to work with children
  • Patience
  • Knowledge of Psychological principles and concepts
  • Pass background check
  • Attend orientation
