Aslan Youth Ministries - Tutor
Overview
Aslan Youth Ministries (several locations in NJ) is a nonprofit organization that provides outreach programs to impoverished areas in Monmouth County. Aslan programs include one-on-one mentoring and tutoring, character development classes based upon Christian values and principles, recreational activities, summer camps, cultural enrichment programs, intervention services and scholarship assistance programs for higher learning.
The name Aslan refers to the central character in The Chronicles of Narnia series which the Aslan, the lion, stands for – compassion, guidance and truth – to the children we serve in New Jersey and Haiti.
Duties
- Tutor and mentor elementary school children in an after school program
- Assist in events
Requirements
- Desire to help others
- 3 reference forms along with application (details are found on the application online)
- Respect for Christian values and principles (although you might not agree with them)
