Overview

Creative Arts Therapy -Amanda's Easel/PALS
The Amanda's Easel Creative Arts Therapy Program seeks to provide healing to children and their non-offending parent from the aftermath of domestic violence. This program helps them express and understand their feelings in a safe environment through creative arts intervention and case management services.
The Amanda's Easel Creative Arts Therapy Program strives to

  • Strengthen self-esteem
  • Develop new coping skills
  • Gain a sense of control over concerns, doubts and fears Increase communication between parent and child
  • Begin to understand the cycle of violence and how it affects their self esteem
  • Help break the cycle of family violence


Often times, children are unable to describe their feelings associated with witnessing domestic abuse. Amanda’s Easel gives them the tools so that they can begin healing.

Duties

  • Assist in art therapy with children who are victims of family violence
  • Assist case manager
  • Clerical Duties


Requirements

  • Reliable transportation
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Submit to background investigations and fingerprinting
  • Participate in an application and interview process
